In general, the goal of the trail camera monitoring system in Big Bend is to develop a less time consuming, more reliable, and cheaper method of monitoring mammalian wildlife species in Big Bend National Park with adequate spatial and temporal resolution to detect significant changes in population size, habitat use, and distribution.
