Klondike Mammal Survey

In 2018, Wildlands Conservancy permanently protected 500 acres near the headwaters of the Lehigh River, known as “Klondike.” The parcel was immediately transferred to the Pennsylvania Game Commission to expand State Game Lands 312. In May, 2021, 4 camera traps were placed near the lower Klondike Pond in order to capture mammals found in this habitat that is evolving back to wetlands after the removal of a dam. Although this project will certainly be used for conservation purposes, it will also be used as an educational resource for local school groups.
