Diversity Monitoring of Mammals and Pheasants in Motianling Project
Wildlife survey of a giant panda reserve in Northern Sichuan Province.
The project surveyed the diversity of large- and medium-sized mammals and pheasants in the Motianling Mountains of Sichuan Province from 2008 to 2015 . We used remote-trip cameras and kept a spacing of at least 300 m between cameras. We moved the cameras every 10 days and selected camera locations based on the presence of game trails or animal sign. We also applied commercial scent lure to increase detections of animals.
