Gaoligongshan Mountain
This project aimed to estimate the population of Asiatic black bear in the forests of Gaoligongshan Mountains. Three camera traps were set for each station and a total of 11 stations were set to get photos of individual Asiatic black bears, distinguished by the unique moon patches on their chest, for population estimation.
Caveats: Sometimes the camera trap did not work well due to the setting problem, e.g., some cameras were not turned on when the staff left the station. Sometimes the cameras were not set correctly to get the clear image of bears chest.
