Camera located at soil moisture plot 227 in Watershed 27, Coweeta Hydrologic Laboratory, Nantahala National Forest. Watershed 27 is a reference watershed that has been undisturbed by humans since the early 1920s when it was logged. Overstory species include Quercus rubra, Magnolia fraseri, and Betula alleghaniensis. Understory includes Rhododendron maximum. Note that the camera angle was shifted by an Amercian Black Bear, so the detection distance afterwards was likely a bit lower.
