Deep canals on both sides of road with maintained banks. Very few places to set camera. Only available spot near suggested deployment location was a small sycamore sapling. That's why camera location is quite a distance from suggested location.
Camera located in Watershed 10, which was commercial logged from 1942-1956, resulting in a decrease of 30% of the basal area. Camera located about 2 m from stream. Overstory species include Liriodendron tulipifera, Betula lenta, Nyssa sylvatica, and Rhododendron maximum.
Camera located in watershed 3 which was cut and burned in 1940 and farmed and grazed over a twelve year period in the mid 1950s the watershed was planted in Eastern White Pine and Tulip Poplar. Overstory includes Liriodendron tulipifera, Pinus strobus, and Acer rubrum.
Camera located in Watershed 54 about 5 m from second-order stream. Overstory includes Acer rubrum, Oxydendrum arboreum, and Quercus montana. Shrub layer of Rhododendron maximum.
Near "bear highway" on Blue Ridge Parkway between Arboretum and Chestnut Ridge overlook. Opposite side of road from Shut-In Trail and about 75 yards away from BRP in woods.
