The Mast and Mammals Project will analyze the contribution of mast (fruit and seed production by trees and shrubs) to wildlife ecology across several research sites operated by the National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON). The results of this analysis will be used to evaluate community changes across various species dependent on mast production.

A high-density camera trap array (a 90 x 60 m plot, with 54 camera traps randomly located within 54, 10 x 10 m grid cells). Cameras were deployed during winter months (December - March) only, for two consecutive years: 2017-2018 and 2018-2019. Grid location is the same, but exact camera placement and camera id may not be the same between years.

We used grid-based camera trap surveys to collect baseline data on the community of medium and large mammal species occurring in several existing or proposed Protected Areas in Myanmar. All surveys were conducted by Friends of Wildlife field teams beginning in 2018.
